About this listing

Astronomy or studying of stars is the process by which individuals physically look at stars and other celestial objects in the night sky. What can be just a fun pastime may be a form of science in a different sense of the word. Mere contemplation of the night skies, identification of constellations and the appearances of meteor showers or other astronomical phenomenon are some of the informal activities offered by astronomy to the pure enthusiasts. For the more serious enthusiasts it might involve the use of telescope for observing the outer space bodies such as Planets, Stars and Galaxies or research being conducted on trajectories and characteristics of celestial objects. Stargazing can be carried out at the back yard, at parks on, or at other places far from artificial source of light.

Description

About Place

The global environment has been under pressure for one to mention that many things that were previously considered normal are now very rare like; fresh air, water and thick green forests and uniqueness of plants and animals. Also, the brightening of the lights in cities and villages is gradually endangering the darkness of nights. Now people are going round the world in order to get one absolutely unobscured, unobstructed view of the sky. An internationally known photographer of astrology reveals that for the stargazing and photographing of the stars, Nepal is the most suited place in the whole world. The beautiful mountains and the clear stars of the Himalayas without pollution from the big cities makes it easy for one to watch stars at night in Nepal.

Place is Great For

1) Sagarmatha National Park: Most recently in 2016, National Geographic considered Sagarmatha National Park, home to Mt. Everest as one of the five of the best stargazing destinations on earth. The magazine employed a photograph showing Jeff dai of Gokyo at night, and the text consisted of only the title and the cover photograph caption. Astrotourism wise the area below Mt. Everest always offers good prospects as it lies away from the city’s artificial lighting and is considerably above the dust and glaze. 2) Gosainkunda: Gosainkunda is one of the alpine fresh water lakes situated in Rasuwa district of Nepal. This lake has rather a great importance for the Hindus since their chief god Shiva and Parvati live in this lake accord to the mythological stories. This spot is approximately 4380m above sea level so there is no unwanted light pollution at night good for photography. 3) Annapurna Base Camp: Due to the wonderful views of the natural gifts and majestic mountains, Annapurna Base Camp popularly known as ABC is one of the most famous treks in Nepal. Because it is so distant from all the bustles of a city as the sun sets and night gains the control one can appreciate the beauty of the starry night and the Milky Way taking the central place on the sky. 4) Langtang National Park: Langtang National Park is the first Himalayan National Park of Nepal and the fourth of its kind of protected area. This national park is guessed to have the red panda, Himalayan black bear, snow leopard, wild dog, choral and serow. Despite having the advantage of being the closest national park to Kathmandu it still about photography and stargazing especially at night.
